Adapted from Dario Fo's Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Accidental Death of a Black Motorist by Sid Feldman, infuses current issues and stylized Nuevo Comedia. The challange, as the scenic designer, was to create a set farcicle enough to live with the clown faced characters of the play, while remaining nuetral and serious enough to carry the weight of the heavy content of a story exposing race and police abuse in America. The result is a comically bland set, with pops of competing colors, just the right amount of poor taste for a bumbling detective's office.
